Violette Sauvage vide dressing at La Cour du Marais

This weekend is the Violette Sauvage vide dressing at La Cour du Marais on Paris’ rue des Archives.

You’re always guaranteed to find some great stuff at these events, and today was no exception: I spotted a red Sandro dress for €60, a Gucci-esque embroidered Zara skirt for €10, and a gorgeous Sezane grey and black polka dot mini skirt for €35. Emphasis on the mini, sadly, as even for a Brit it was just too short.

So what did I buy? If I had size 5 feet I would have bought the Sezane leopard print trainers and the Claudie Pierlot x Veja pair, but I don’t, so instead picked up two pairs of brand-new-with-tags Noisy May jeans for €20 each. This Danish brand offers good quality denim at great prices, so if you live in jeans, you’ll want to check it out. I’m always on the hunt for jeans that don’t go baggy on the knee – from J brand to Acne, Levis, zara and H&M, I’ve tried them all and always wound up disappointed, so fingers crossed that this Scandi brand will live up to expectations.

Violette Sauvage vide dressing – Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 April, La Cour du Marais, 81 rue des Archives, 75003.

The event is on from 11am to 7pm and entry costs €2Expect to see the likes of Kenzo, Sandro, Claudie Pierlot and Maje for just €10 and €20. This event comes hot on the heels of the success of a previous edition last month, so is definitely worth checking out.

If this doesn’t satisfy your shopping needs then the first May edition of Les Emplettes kicks off today and is on until May 14 at 10 rue Béranger, also in the third arrondissement.

Les Armoires de Paris is also hosting a vide dressing, at Cafe A (148 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Martin, 75010) on Saturday from 11am to 8pm.

Les Agaçantes braderie chic March 2017

Les Agançantes has announced the next date of its braderie chic in Paris. Taking place on March 11 and 12 in an 850m2 showroom, the event promises new and secondhand clothes, bags, shoes and accessories priced at €5 and €10. Entry is €2, and includes a free coffee.

I’ve been to this event a couple of times before, although this will be the first time it is hosted in a new, bigger venue. Be prepared to queue, and I’d advise getting there well before it opens. At these prices, the best things get snapped up very quickly.

But, be warned–as stallholders can only sell items at low prices, I wouldn’t expect many high-end brands. However, I have previously seen Claudie Pierlot, Maje, French Connection, Kenzo etc, for  €10, so you never know. Usually though, the majority is H&M, Zara, Mango and the like.

Last year, the braderie chic included luxury stands where items were priced up to €30, but this isn’t a feature of the event in March. Whether luxury stands will make a comeback at later editions remains to be seen.

I’m excited to see what bargains I’ll be able to snap up–I previously bought an IKKS grey and black leopard print scarf for  €8 here, and a Version Original oatmeal cashmere jumper for  €10.
