The pop-up shop of luxury resale site Vestiaire Collective in Paris offers such a carefully curated selection of preloved (although you wouldn’t know it) clothes, shoes and accessories that you’ll want to buy the entire shop.
Dior, Chanel, YSL, Balenciaga….all the usual suspects are here. From the Louis Vuitton belted coat to the Prada camel suede dress, everything is so fabulous, on-trend and eminently wearable that it’s difficult to pick just one stand-out piece. Because that Gucci bag would go so well with that Valentino dress, and that Chanel purse is a timeless classic… and before you know it, you’ll need to take out a second mortgage.
Because that’s the thing. The prices. While 900€ for a YSL bag starts to look quite cheap next to €2,200 for a Prada, I’m sadly not in the habit of casually handing over €500 notes (as someone was doing when I was there).
That said, if I could have bought with impunity I would have, so if you can afford it, or want to seriously treat yourself, then this is the place to go. And if you’ve got any money left over, there’s a cafe at the back of the shop run by Le Petit Comité.
The shop will also play host to a series of events such as talks and book signings. On 17 & 18 November, shop the charity sale organized by supermodel and philanthropist Toni Garrn- your chance to snap up items donated by the likes of Kate Moss and Giselle.
